Film 'Swantantrya Veer Savarkar' is again in the news and this time it is because of a shocking revelation by Mahesh Manjrekar. The filmmaker-actor claims that he left the movie due to actor Randeep Hooda's interference in the script and direction. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Mahesh says he was initially impressed with Randeep's research regarding Veer Savarkar. Mahesh said, 'I met Randeep and I saw that he’s quite sincere and was involved with the subject. We had a couple of meetings. He read several books related to the freedom struggle, World Wars etc. I found it quite interesting. The first draft was read out to him.' He then added that Randeep suggested a few changes in the script in the beginning and said, 'He had a few issues and that was okay. Then even during the second draft, he had a few objections. I told him, ‘If this is what’s going to happen, there will be a problem in the film’. He assured me that once the script is locked, he won’t question anything.' Mahesh further alleged that Randeep wanted to include Hitler, the King of England, the Prime Minister of England in the film. The filmmaker says he left the project when Randeep started telling him 'how to shoot' the film. He said, 'He then started telling him that I can shoot in a particular way and then put the dissolve transition. I was like, ‘Now he’s telling me how to make films’. Mahesh Manjrekar's latest film 'Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Koncha' is back in news and this time again it is hogging the limelight because of all the wrong reasons. According to a few reports, a complaint has been filed against Mahesh and the producers in Bandra court for allegedly portraying women and children in an objectionable manner in the film. An organisation reached Bandra metropolitan magistrate court alleging that the film, which was released in cinema halls and OTT platforms on January 14, shows 'sexually explicit content depicting women and children in highly objectionable ways.' A complaint was later filed under sections 292 (sale etc of obscene content), 295 (punishment for obscene acts or words in public) of the IPC and Indecent Representation of the Women Prohibition Act. The case is scheduled to be heard on February 28. Earlier, the National Commission for Women chairperson Rekha Sharma had asked the ministry of Information and Broadcasting to censor the trailer and sexually explicit scenes of Mahesh manjrekar's film. The NCW was acting on a complaint received from Maharashtra-based women rights group stating that the trailer of the film has 'obscene' content and shows women and minor children in objectionable ways. The film, ‘Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Koncha’ is based on the story by Marathi playwright and theatre critic Jayant Pawar. It stars Prem Dharmadhikari, Chhaya Kadam, Shashank Shende and Kashmera Shah in pivotal roles.
