It is a wrap for the '๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฏ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—•๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—น๐˜€' research project, which we are delighted to have been involved in together with Waag Futurelab. In this project, funded byCLICKNL, weinvestigated the conditions for digital public spaces and the fundamental aspects of responsible business models. We also investigated what responsible business models are, starting from the non-extractive, sustainable, and non-monopolistic alternatives to the business models of large tech companies. Finally, we looked at how responsible business models can contribute to an open and heterogeneous, digital public space. One of the main outputs of this project was the development of a Responsible Business Model Canvas and associated workshop method to support initiatives in designing a business model based on public values. The Canvas is specifically designed for initiatives in the digital public space, but can also be used more broadly. It encourages a holistic approach to a business model, in which the social and environmental impact of the organization plays an important role, among other things. Our thanks and congratulations to the Waag Futurelab Team, Simone van der Burg, Marit Hoefsloot, Julia Jansen, Sophie Almanza, and Aris Benjamin Ham for the great work! An ecosystem of actors whose success depends on translating ideas and problems into opportunities and contextual solutions. This is only possible with the knowledge of entrepreneurship applied to the networked society we live in. The tools and methodologies being designed and developed now and in the future will be integrated into our curriculum. This will enable our students and graduates to act with an innovative mindset and engage in whatever venture or challenge they face in the future. Thanks to the work of Liliya and her research group, we at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences have the ambition to play a leading role in the field of "network generation".๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ "๐—ช๐—˜"After the various workshops organised by her research group, she presented her ambitions in co-creation with the audience in attendance, both live and online via a livestream: https://edu.nl/akkdpBy jointly opening the distributed envelopes, the co-creation in the room could begin. The audience was asked to build a bridge in 1.5 minutes, with free interpretation of shape and colour. All kinds of variations appeared and were then connected during the second part of the task with the person next to them.Together with her research group Designing Value Networks, Liliya is ready to co-create experiments towards a future of uncertainty but with a mission with all our current and future partners!#networkgeneration #design #transitions #creativity #entrepreneurship #innovation #education #future #intreerede #dehagueresearch #cocreation #partners

Last week I visited my US based CM.com colleagues in Detroit, itโ€™s great to see how things are progressing here. All our new messaging channels and AI powered Software is really taking off here and make our respected clients, like U-Haul, very happy.I also got the chance to meet many of our investors in Chicago, New York and Boston. Itโ€™s great to be able to disscuss our latest developments in real person with them. Especially our โ€˜one stop shop for conversational commerce strategyโ€™ was very well received. This week Iโ€™m spending time with a delagation from Breda to discuss the future value proposition of our hometown. Amongst others Iโ€™m here with the mayor, the deputy mayor, the deputy commander of the Dutch defence academy, the GM of Amgen Netherlands, the CEO of the regional development organisation BOM (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij), the CFO of the Amphia hospital, the CFO of Breda University of Applied Sciences, a board member of Avans Hogeschool, a cofounder of Handpicked agencies, and other great and inspiring entrepreneurs and people from Gemeente Breda and other officials.Weโ€™re visiting many businesses, developers, coworkingspaces, manufacturers, incubators, governmental organisations, in Boston and New York, in order to get inspired for a new and compelling economic vision for Breda; the formation of a true Innovation District for Breda. My personal mission is to sell the idea of transforming the CM headquarters into CM Campus, an open, inspiring and vibrant place, with ample facilities like a restaurant, a gym, a conference center, open for not only our valued CM colleagues, but also for related business (including professional services, like accountants and lawyers) and startups in Breda, a truly ecosystem for attracting and retaining talent for the region, I was born and raised and hope to be able to live in much longer. I really believe that CM Campus, together with others, can be great Anchor for the new Innovation District development in Breda. Itโ€™s still a long shot, because the city of Breda can be sometimes very restrictive in terms of rules and regulations, but I believe Boston and New York are the best places to be inspired about how ecosystems of thriving companies around leading universities can really work. My first insight is that in the end we all want the same. To make Breda a green and inclusive city without borders, where tech companies can apply technology to really solve problems in a creative way. Regardless if they are in Gaming, Robotics, AI, Software, Life Sciences or any other technology.

Today, our colleague Mireille Post-Hubers gave a lecture to the Judicial system in the Netherlands entitled "the inconvenient truth about change". Part of that inconvenient truth is that during change processes, we protect our two core values at all costs: inclusion (belonging to the group) and autonomy (being able to govern yourself). Paying attention to this process is one of the keys to successful change.#organizationalchange #transformation #personaldevelopment

Open Call for contributions (NL and EN) - deadline 1 October 2024:In April 2025, Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Boekman Foundation (Boekmanstichting), in collaboration with the National Network for Cultural Policy (Landelijk Netwerk Cultuurbeleid), will organize the conference 'Culture as a Problem Solver?'. What role can arts and culture play in addressing public issues? Are the expectations of this role too high or either too low? Howdoes the use of art for broader societal goals relate to autonomy and artistic freedom? Should this even be the task of arts and culture?

Donโ€™t do it. 113The worldโ€™s tragedies can make life seem like a terrible option. From geopolitical horrors to utterly isolated suffering. If you stare long enough into the abyss, the abyss starts staring back into you. Too often, people with outwardly seemingly perfect lives, choose to end it. No complaints, no rumors, no signs, just clean cuts. Where my old econometrics professor said that โ€œThe path to success, winds along the edge of the abyss of utter despairโ€, a whole lot of other trails pass by it as well. We are not accustomed to talk about our doubts, insecurities, and fears. Contrary to wishful thinking, we fear others may smell blood. It doesnโ€™t have to be like that. We must foster close, intimate, long-lasting relationships to stay sane in this world.Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) attributed their #AbrahamKuyperLezing to mental wellbeing in our days. A topic entitled to attention, given people in NL are 13 times more likely to kill themselves than to be killed by others.Iโ€™m no professional, but now that I have your attention, please:1.Talk to your trustees 2.Step back into exercise and nature3.Get to the bottom of thingsIf all else fails, please, call 113 Zelfmoordpreventie.
